Antique Advertising - Art Deco Shop Display Sign Johnson Boot Repairer c.1930
c.1930 - Early 20th Century Art Deco advertising sign - Rare one off piece.
A fantastic piece of antique advertising, this salvaged sign would have proudly hung inside a retailers, catching the eye of by passers and promoting the service of repairing boots.
Housed in its original wooden angle sided frame with glass front, the paper has cut out lettering which reads "J. Johnson Boot Repairer" in typical Art Deco style. The cut out letters are in a warm, orange toned colour which contrasts the paper and dark wooden frame beautifully. The paper is securely held in place and protected by glass.
Hung with the use of the fitted chain, this piece would have either been displayed in a shop window to attract the attention of people as they passed or inside a shop or department store behind a countertop / work station where the repairs would have taken place.
A great piece to display in your home, this would work perfectly in an entrance hall, boot room or entrance porch. Also a welcomed addition to any growing or established collection of antique advertising, frames and memorabilia.
Dimensions: 53cm x 17cm
Condition: Good original order. It appears the paper may have slipped inside the frame which slightly covers the big J at the start.
