Antique Advertising - 20th Century Phillips Cycles Promotional Poster Sign c1950

An original Phillips Cycles promotional advertising poster dating from the mid 20th century.

This eye catching piece features a classic pin-up style illustration of a woman posed beside a bicycle, accompanied by the company's distinctive lion emblem, creating a striking example of period commercial artwork and British cycling heritage.

Produced to promote one of Britain's best known bicycle manufacturers, the poster perfectly captures the style and marketing aesthetics of the era. The bold graphics, vibrant imagery and typography make it an attractive display piece for collectors of cycling memorabilia, vintage advertising, automobilia, transport history and period graphic design.

Founded in Birmingham, Phillips Cycles was one of the United Kingdom's leading bicycle manufacturers, renowned for producing quality bicycles that became  familiar throughout much of the 20th century.

The poster would have been displayed in a variety of different settings, especially showcased in retail areas where the bicycles were being sold.

Dimensions:

Poster only - 49.5cm X 64cm

Mounting card - 59.5cm X 84cm

Condition: The poster has been mounted on black background card as there is torn edges and loss. The bulk of the poster still displays nicely with the main imagery and working in tact. The mounting board can of course be cut down to size to fit a frame.
