Antique 19th Century Wooden Oak Country House Carved Letter Box / Storage Box

A stunning 19th-century oak letter box, rich in character and craftsmanship, once at home in a traditional country house setting. This beautifully carved piece offers both historical charm and practical storage, with particular history linking the box to Rushpool Hall - as outlined in the last picture which outlines the history.
Expertly crafted from solid oak, it features decorative carved detailing that highlights the skill of the period - along with the initials JW (standing for Sir Jospeh Walton) carved into the front. Originally used for letters and correspondence, it now serves perfectly as a stylish storage box for documents, keepsakes or small valuables.
Retains its original brass features and brackets for wall mounting meaning it can either be wall hung or stand tabletop.
