A striking piece of 19th-century craftsmanship this exceptional antique hand carved oak dresser is rich in character and detail.
Crafted from solid oak, the dresser showcases intricate, high relief carvings throughout. Most notable are the iconic “Green Man” motifs - foliate faces symbolising nature and renewal. The lower cabinet cupboard doors feature beautifully detailed figural scenes, of what appears to be drinkers in a tavern / social setting.
Above, turned columns frame a central mirror. The upper section is adorned with elaborate scrollwork and decorative flourishes, crowned by an ornate pediment - These details matching the lower section.Â
The piece offers both form and function, with ample storage with the cupboard, drawers and surface for display or everyday use. It's a standout addition to traditional, rustic, or eclectic interiors.

The very top decorative plinth is slanted forward - Im not sure if this was originally like this or has bee adjusted to angle forward. It's just attached with a central bracket so could easily be adjusted straight or left on the forward facing angle. It can also be removed altogether.Â
Cabinet splits into top and bottom sections for easier movement. Will need to add some new screws or brackets if you wanted to secure them together as one unit rather than just sitting on top of one another.Â
No major damages - Juts minor surface scuffs and knocks typical of age. No keys. The oak lower cabinet top has slight warping, does not affect the use. Mirror free from chip or cracks with just minor spots of typical age related tarnish.Â
