Antique 1939 Trade Stim Pike’s Peak Arcade Coin Operated Machine Working / Keys

Circa 1939-1941
Manufactured by - Groetchen Tool & Mfg. Co. (Chicago, USA)
Working order.

A great example of a countertop trade stim arcade machine - These were widely used to encourage shoppers to indulge in a game of chance using up their spare chance - Commonly located on bar tops as a bit of fun for the pub customers.

A mechanical skill game where players insert a 1 cent coin to get  five ballbearings to tackle the climb. The aim of the game with use of timing and steady hands is to flip the internal metal stair tiers to climb the balls to the top of "Pike’s Peak". When you ball drops off a certain level, the ballbearing will fall into a scoring column and at the end of the 5 balls you will add up your score and match this against the scoring criteria on the machine to see how skilled you are!

Many units also doubled as gum-ball - This example is one of those where every play should dispense a gum-ball out of the dispenser at the front too. Its even still has some old gum-balls in but these are obviously not suitable for use due to their age!

A really clean example - Will be very difficult to find a better one than this in such clean well looked after order.
Includes a hand written note from a previous owner along with lots of 1 cent coins to use on it.
