Antique High Quality Wooden Tabletop Oak Stationery Cabinet Writing Box c.1915

Circa 1915

This beautiful antique writing box dates back to the early 1900s and is made out of high-quality solid oak.
The box displays in the most desirable aged patina and colour all over.

On top of the box is an added engraved plaque from when it was gifted in 1915
The plaque reads:
L.O.A.S
Presented to Bro. Robinson Wardman
On the occasion of his official visit as chief shepherd to the hull district.
20th March 1915.

Really interesting piece of social research - Would be a nice little project to try and figure out exactly who this was.
I believe it could possibly be Masonic?

The oak top and front panel opens on hinges to reveal a fully fitted interior with lots of sectional gaps and one large & one small storage drawer. There are the two original purple leather bound writing books - One for addresses and one as a cash record book - Both unused.

In general just a superb example of an antique stationery box - As useful today as it was 100 years ago.

29.5cm X 16cm
Height 23cm

Condition - Very good.

Item No. 6368
